Defiantly Hopeful
Meet Avery.
Raised in the Costal South about twenty minutes from the Florida Georgia line, Avery grew up with the Sun on his face and the Wind at his back. After the death of his father at age six Avery spent many afternoons and weekends with his grandfather, “Papa Crews” , a gospel music singer and Barber. Here Avery caught the performing bug and fell in love with all things acting.
Nearly twenty years later, Avery’s passion has brought him to New York City where he pursues Acting, Writing, and directing with his peers from Shenandoah University, as well as Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. As an artist Avery is passionate about telling stories of hope, redemption, and overcoming across multiple artistic disciplines.
In his free time, you can find Avery Hiking, surfing, biking, or really doing anything outside that you’ll let him do. He loves coffee, dinner with friends and volunteering at his church in Harlem!
